Her birthplace and childhood home was Spalding, Saskatchewan, she later moved from Saskatchewan to Alberta, Canada, from the place where she finished high school. The actress began her acting journey as a teenager. In order to further develop her acting skills, she went to the National Theatre School of Montreal. In the following years, she was also a student at an acting class at the Moscow Theatre School.
